Kan jag få ett schysst arv snart? Och då menar jag inte från mina föräldrar, men idag fick jag ett långt och underbart mail från Dennis. En aussie som jag reste med i Guatemala i dec 2006, jan 2007. Knäppgök, men åh så underbar. Det här är vad han gjort under de två senaste åren.


enjoyed whole trip from the dragon bones of sentosa, the live music in
london (silver mt zion and black heart procession... wow!), meeting upw/ old friends in london, drive up to Oxford w/ Vince, quick visits by Amsterdam, Brussels, Lille, Paris and hanging by the Seine and Australia beating Japan in the world cup, Barcelona, Madrid, Palhacaand Lisbon visiting old friends and family.

fancy and not so fancy places in New York w/ great concerts andparties thrown in (grates, final fantasy).the jazz festival and people of Montreal in general, parties, Xandor.back to NYC for the fourth of july in Brooklyn. Santa Cruz and all thegreat people i met there w/ pirates porn, water baloon fights, theasty and red room and campus. Long Beach friends, crazy hookah storeowners and shots at night.


Portland and it's surroundings, w/ visits to the Odditorium, MultnomahFalls, nature all around, fresh blackberry pies and late night walkstalking shit for hours (kelly please see front desk), Powells bookcity.

Mexico City and it's crazy nights, sidestage w/ the Dandy Warhols asthe Strokes perform the encore in front of 18000 people and theafterparty. the beaches in Zipolite where magic electricity was aroundus, Puerto Escondido and my birthday. food poisoning in San Cristobalon Mexican independence day and then...

got to Guatemala, after a sketchy first two nights (guy bleedingfrom head walking in middle of road in front of us, crack smoker infront of chinese restaurant we went to, passed out drunks at midday ona sunday) i fell in love w/ the country and it's people. all the greatfriends i met and hung out w/ there, you made it even better. fromvolunteering at Hawaii and the El Gariton w/ Abby and Kate (David,Carolina and the family) to moving to Antigua and living and partyingw/ all the great friends there (you know who you are!).

our trip to El Salvador w/ the many ours by bus, boat, bus, bus,tricycle, walk, bus (where a guy threatened to rob us and we justwalked away and told him to wait), bus and finally one more bus.rained as we left home at 6am then sunny all day till we had to getoff again at 6pm. splashing out on an amazing hotel (whole $22 each)by the beach and posing by pool.Tikal and it's splendour as the nights sets in and we are lost w/ nomap, light, or idea where to go... oh and its raining. view from thetop of temples.

xmas in Belize w/ Chad and Steph and Khris engagement on christmasday. kid on seat next to me peeing his pants as i head back into Guatemala, getting my shorts a bit wet as well in the process.working at Reilly's... and La Luna de Miel i suppose. new years at theearth lodge overlooking the valley. nights out at Frank's land andafterparties.

Australia day in El salvador w/ the greatest of crews (well besidestwo) and kangaroo and koala pinatas. serre-moi encore. downunder. mineand bree's final countdown. Oriane and my trance dance.crazy semana santa where all nightsers were the norm and where i gotheld up at knife point. sneaking into the ruins at two in themorning... twice. getting busted by the police that second time.playing and getting to the final of the five-a-side competetion w/ themighty Barbas Amarillas... and then getting disqualified in secondlast game of second season for being drunk (had been champions leaguefinal day and kenny and Bree had just returned from Cuba w/ cigars andgood rum)remember "Defenders score the best goals!". El Salvador for a third time. hanging out w/ Narda again. this time even into San Salvador. staying at the great El Roble (thanksDarren and Seka).belize and its ATM cave and lovely, oh so lovely Placencia.scuba diving for nearly a month at Alton's in Utila, Honduras, andthen renting our own private island. devine. treetanic and trying tofind a good place to stay. ruins of Coban. final goodbyes to Guate and all the kids i knew there. little Leti(she still asked about me months after i left), Jennifer, Claudia(whose real name was Gladys), the Edgar's, Amadeu, Viny, Flor, Maidyand all the others. helping out at Escuela Esperanza in Jocotenango.all the stupid moments and nights from the Brain train (Jereme's faultalways) to the bomb nights (mostly caria's to thank for these), fromthe stupid t-shirt nights to the Farewell Party. Gedda Dog Upya andthe Grateful Daddies. farewell night at Tequila bar w/ Bree, Steve,Carlos and Darren. suave chapinas, kennef tangs sweet chilly sauce.

rock and ice climbing in Peru, all the trekking in Cordillera Blancaand Huyahuash. nights w/ Paul, Kevin and Joey in Huaraz. sitting at Andino, eating alpaca and guinea pig and cow heart. laguna 69 and thebluest water ever. freezing, freezing cold, local kids joing us for adance and music as Paul later goes and lies on fence wall, the searchfor the missing Paul as he lay on wall.volunteering in Pisco and the great people i met there (even if someof the were New Zealanders), Marvin the monkey, genuine affection andgratitude by the locals, working in Ludotecas in refugee camps,painting a mural on Hands On wall, getting robbed at knife point, Icaand building temporary classrooms.

Macchu Pichu w/ Anna, Marsha and Emma... Macchu Pichu... wow!lake Titicaca and it's floating islands. Copacabana and Isla del Sol in Bolivia now. meeting Chelsey properlyin La Paz and then travelling w/ her from then on.Salar de Uyuni, its scenery, the cold wind, the hours upon hoursinside a 4wd, rustic accomodation, in a sleeping bag w/ bottle of winein a field middle of nowhere in the freezing cold night looking up atthe stars w/ Chelsey, breaking my camera at the geysers.San Pedro and what happened there, quickly through Antofagasta,gypsies in Las Serenas, Valparaiso home of Pablo Neruda, Santiago w/it's Blondie.

Mendoza w/ free (crap) wine at hostel, wine tours, Cordoba and tryingto go out w/ girl on her birthday after we had drunk 47% gin thinkingit was normal gin thus crashing out when we went to change back inroom,

playing football again my first day in Brazil. friendliness andkindness of Brazilian people, fruit for breakfast, splendid beaches,Caraiva and its sand streets and no cars, four hour walk from praia doespelho back to Caraiva, carnaval in Salvador, Rio and its jungleinside the city.riverboat ride for a week from Belem to Manaus up the Amazon, riverdolphins, our own cabin, spaghetti and beans and rice for every mealwhile on boat, jungle all around.Trindads serenity and pounding surf, good body surfing session,natural pool, the rock that swallows.
